Navigating the Folder Tree

  • Click on the folder listing to enter the folder.
  • Click on the up-arrow in the toolbar to backup one level.
  • Click on the Folder icon to create a new sub-folder.
  • Click on the Home icon to return to your home folder.

Sorting File Listings
File listings can be sorted by any of the column headings: Name; Size; Date. Click on the column heading to sort, click again on the same heading to reverse the sort order.

Transferring and Manipulating Files in the Navigator and Web Widget

The three interfaces to your FTP-Stream storage (the Navigator, the popup client and the Web Widget) all work in the same way.

Uploading
Click on the upload button, click Select Files for Upload which lists files on your local PC or Mac. Highlight the files you want to upload and close the file explorer window. Note that you can select multiple files using shift-click or control-click. When done you will see the files you have selected listed ready to upload. Click the Upload button to start uploading files.

Note that if you are not logged in you are uploading as the public user. Uploaded files are only saved to the home folder of the public user if Sharing Mode is enabled. If sharing mode is not enabled files are written to the Public Uploads folder which can only be accessed by the admin login.

Downloading
Click on any file listing to start downloading the files. It is not possible at this time to select multiple files for download.

Deleting Files
You must be logged in to delete files, the public user cannot delete files or folders.

Tick the checkboxes for all the files and folders you want to delete and click the trash can icon in the toolbar. Deletions are recursive so if your selection includes a folder all folder contents will be deleted. Deletes are permanent, there is no undo.

Moving Files Between Folders
You must be logged in to move files, the public user cannot move files.

Tick the checkboxes for all the files and folders you want to move and click the scissor icon in the toolbar. Navigate to the destination folder and click the past button in the toolbar.

Copying
There is no facility to copy files at this time.

Quicklinks
You can create Quicklinks to download a single file. These encoded links are special, no login is required and download starts automatically on clicking the link, access is to the single file only, there is no access to browse your site.

To create a Quicklink click on the icon next to the file name and select Quicklink from the actions menu. Select the link and copy to your clipboard. You then paste the link into an email or use on a web page.

You must be logged in to create Quicklinks, the admin login can always create Quicklinks. Additionally when you create or edit a login on the control panel you can grant or revoke the right to create Quicklinks. If a login is set to be the Public login Quicklink generation is disabled.
